Animalic change [AU] [Luffy x Reader x Law] [pt07]

What happened...? You blinked a few times, staring at the food you had been eating the last seconds. You didn't remember being hungry, you didn't even remember getting up. You cleaned your paw, sitting down and taking a short look around. Your energy was back. It felt like you woke up from a bad, bad dream – knowing that it wasn't a real dream. All that stuff had happened. It was real. You had been a young woman, leading your own life – and losing more and more of it.
And now...? Now you were a lynx, having to lead a different life... and yet, your worries from your past had caught you once more. You ate, you drank... but what for? You felt terrible in a way you didn't understand. Depression. What an awful illness to get...

“What do you think, Kaya-san?” You froze at the spot, turning your head around. That voice. Just like... that woman of your dream. Slowly you looked to the two women, eyeing them calmly. Kaya tilted her head, smiling lightly. “I think... she might get over it, right, Kuleha-san?”, she hummed, eyeing the older woman next to her questioning. And that woman. That old, old woman. The witch that helped you out the last time.
“I really hope so. If they give her the medicine each day, it should work... with a little surprise~” Her grin made you shiver lightly, getting on your feet and turning around, hesitantly walking over to the two doctors, stopping in front of them. You stared at the older one, trying to figure out what kind of surprise she mentioned. You could guess – but some of the possibilities scared you somehow.
“You're curious, huh?”, the old witch chuckled, leaning down to you and tickling your ears. “Let's just say... soon you won't like Lynn anymore, (y/n)~”, she whispered low enough that only you could hear her, freezing as soon as she mentioned that name. Had that been... your name back then...? Your eyes had grown wide, you were staring at her confused.
You wanted to say something – anything to thank her first and ask her after that – but you couldn't. Not in your current form.
“Well, I'll be gone, Kaya-san. If you ever come across anything strange, don't hesitate and call me.”, she hummed, leaving the room afterwards. Your look followed her as you slowly tilted your head. What in the world...
“Lynn! Kaya! We're here!~” A happy voice – obviously Luffy's – made you jump startled, turning around once more. The young black-haired male ran into the room, directly grabbing you and cuddling you. “We were so worried!”, he exclaimed, looking at Kaya who shook her head amused.
“Hey, hey, calm down, Luffy. She still needs rest.”, she smiled, tilting her head. “Where's-”
“Here. That idiot ran off without me.”, Laws calm, but annoyed voice made you turn your head, blinking a few times. They were here to get you, weren't they? Take you with them.
You smiled unconsciously, although they couldn't see it. Somebody who actually wanted you to be with them. It made you glad on the one hand, having somebody who cared. But on the other hand... how long could you stay with them? You were in the body of a wild animal, they couldn't keep you forever. So how was this supposed to end...?
You pushed your head against Luffy's cheek, mewling lightly, but happily, making him chuckle amused. “Look, she missed us as well! Right, Lynn, you missed Law and me?”, he grinned, lifting you, before he turned to Law, letting him strike your fur. You huddled against his hand, looking at him attentively.
“Right... so, Kaya-ya, is there something we have to keep in mind?” The doctor wanted to know, looking at the young veterinary. She nodded, handing him a small bottle. “Mix those pills into her food. One pill daily – until the bottle's empty. Uhm... my tutor gave me those and they help – but she mentioned some surprise, so... I guess you better watch out.”, she explained, a lopsided smile on her lips, earning a confused look by Law. Luffy didn't bother – he was focused on cuddling you.
“...okay. I'll keep that in mind...”, he muttered, throwing another look at you. “Luffy-ya. Let's get going.”

“Hey... hey, Torao, look! She likes our garden obviously!”, Luffy laughed as you were running around, trying to catch a butterfly. You enjoyed it – although you wouldn't catch that poor small animal. You just felt like it.
“...what did you expect? She's a wild animal, she should be used to staying outside.”, Law hummed, watching you, sitting on their small bench, a book on his lap he had been reading before.
“Ah, don't remind me of that! She'll stay with us!”, he exclaimed, making Law huff.
“It doesn't sound too well, keeping a grown-up lynx with us, you know.”, he replied grumbling, shaking his head annoyed. He wouldn't admit it, but he also wanted you to stay – but unlike Luffy, he knew that you couldn't stay here. So in his opinion, it was better to get some distance between you and him, to make it easier letting you go as soon as they had to.
At least, he wanted that. He couldn't expect you to act according to his thoughts – not the least. Returning to his book, he didn't see how you grew bored of the butterfly, running towards the two men. Luffy was already laughing – so you obviously would tease the other one~
The moment you jumped onto his lap quickly, he looked up in surprise, staring at you bewildered, before narrowing his eyebrows. He stared at you, trying to figure out what made you change your mind. With the look you gave him, he couldn't stay annoyed for too long. You pushed your head against his chest, earning a sigh, before he began stroking your fur. You couldn't deny enjoying it – and again, you were wondering for how many days you could stay with them.
Concerning your medication, you should be completely fine in three days. Three days until Kuleha's surprise... yeah, it made you worry. You feared that it would change a lot as soon as that day was reached.
Well... for now, you would rather enjoy your time with those two. You rolled up on his lap, closing your eyes. You wouldn't be annoyed if he continued to read. He could do whatever he wanted – but he obviously preferred tickling you.
Yes... it could definitely stay like this. You would be happy about it. Yes, for once, you felt happy. It was a pleasant feeling you got, being with them. You didn't want it to change – not the least.

Sooner or later, you had fallen asleep on top of Law's chest, calmly breathing. Luffy chuckled as he went over to his comrade, eyeing both of them grinning. “She likes you!~ Admit it, you want to keep her as well, Torao!”, he laughed, going into a squat next to them and carefully stroking your fur.
“Che. You know that-” “Oh, don't always think of the end of something! Enjoy it, for once, Torao!” And there the black-haired complained, pouting slightly.
“...You're exhausting, Luffy-ya...”, he muttered, half annoyed, half amused, shaking his head. “Yeah, I like it... so, what about it?”
“See!~ I bet we can keep her close somehow!”, the younger one chimed, jumping onto his legs. “I'm not quite sure how... but it will work!~” And with that, he ran inside, whatever he planned to do there.
Law sighed, looking after him, continuing to stroke your fur. “It would be nice if it was that easy...”
