You were surprised about how calm it stayed the next time. The rest of the day had been quiet, you had watched television with your brother and simply stayed at home. Sunday had been peaceful as well. You had stayed at home, only made a short walk through the park. It was a nice weekend – not including Friday.
And today, Monday, you were alone. Your brother had to work and you could do whatever you wanted. Not that you were such a big friend of doing something alone.
You hummed as you finished preparing dinner. It was already past noon – you had slept quite long and eaten something afterwards. Now you were done with cutting the meat and vegetables, so you could easily make dinner as soon as your brother would get home. You took q quick look around, making sure you hadn't forgotten to clean up, before you went to the living room. So, what now? You could read something, watch television, play some of his video games...
You sighed, not being able to decide what exactly you wanted to do. Playing didn't sound too bad, right...? After another moment, you went to his black wardrobe, opening it and tilting your head, eyeing the video games he kept in there. There were a few single-players, especially fantasy adventures, one or two shooters – and also some multiplayer games. Great. Now you knew what you wanted to do – but you had to decide which game you wanted to try... You huffed, grimacing a bit. Okay, maybe just-
Before you could make a decision, it rang at the door, making you freeze for a moment. Who could that be? Your brother would return at about seven o'clock the earliest. As long as it wasn't Shareena, it was okay... right?
You hesitantly went to the door, flinching as they rang again and rolling your eyes. “Yeah, yeah.”, you huffed, opening the door and raising one eyebrow, looking at the two men. “What in the world are you doing here...? You know, (b/n)'s at work.”, you wanted to know skeptically, narrowing your eyebrows lightly. Shachi and Penguin shrugged their shoulders, grinning at you.
“We know, but you're here, right?”, Shachi replied amused, entering followed by Penguin who simply nodded. “Somebody has to look after you~”, he agreed with a smirk, watching as you closed the door.
“...of course. So, now that you're here... can I bring you something to drink?”, you offered, tilting your head as you entered the living room.
“Sure thing!~ Do you have cola or lemonade?”, Shachi hummed, smiling happily.
“I think so. The same for you, Penguin?”, you added, earning a nod. You left, sighing soundlessly to get two bottles and two glasses for them. It only took you a few minutes to get all, but the moment you entered the living room, you raised one eyebrow. They had turned the television and the games console on, grinning as soon as they saw you walk over to them.
“Well... I wanted to play, but...”, you murmured, not finishing the sentence and putting the glasses and bottles on the table.
“Perfect! Let's play something together!”, Penguin hummed, already sitting on the couch and letting the controller circle between his fingers, almost hitting his friend with it.
“Hey, you idiot, watch out!”, he immediately complained, hitting his upper arm.
“You were in the way~”, Penguin gave back with a grin, shrugging his shoulders innocently. You chuckled lowly, shaking your head.
“You're both idiots.”, you slightly huffed, sitting down next to them and grabbing another controller.
“That coming from you, (y/n)... what a compliment! Thank you!”, Shachi grinned at you, making you shake your head amused, not being able to take them seriously. Both had recognized the bandages on your body, but hadn't said or asked – the bandages you had changed of course – and they had also recognized the bad mood you had been in before.
Your brother had called them the last evening, inviting them – you didn't know it, but you were rather glad they were here. They were funny and could distract you rather easily without doing much – simply by being the idiots they were.
“So... you want to play Mario Cart? Seriously?”, you muttered, raising one eyebrow. It had been ages that you had played that game with your brother. You knew it was ways more funnier, playing this game with others – but that you would be playing it this week... you were surprised.
“Of course~ Scared, (y/n)?”, Shachi teased with a lopsided grin, making you huff and shake your head.
“No. I just haven't played it for ages, so you'll have an easy game.”, you sighed as you had to chose your character, tilting your head lightly. Well... why not take Yoshi, the green dinosaur. And a simple car, not a bike – they were easier to handle. The two men took Mario and Luigi – suited them somehow~ Especially Luigi.
“Aaaaw, don't say that~”, Penguin hummed, starting the game.
“Hey, Peng, you won't let her win, right?” Shachi had raised one eyebrow, eyeing his best friend doubtfully, making him chuckle.
“Never~ Who do you think I am?”
“...you were both overtaken.”, you giggled. The round has started without them realizing it – and so, of course, you had gained the lead.
“Shit!”, they cursed simultaneously, making you laugh, almost crashing into some cow in the game.
“Sheez, you should pay attention to the game and not to such stupid things~”, you hummed, focusing on the route.
“That's not stupid!”, Penguin insisted, now trying to catch up with you.
“For once, I agree. It's important to not let a woman win every time! Once or twice okay, but it shouldn't be too obvious.”, Shachi agreed explaining, making you raise one eyebrow.
“You... you've got problems, you guys...”, you muttered, for a moment not watching where you were driving – and falling into a gorge.
“But you as well, (y/n). You shouldn't fall down~”, Shachi hummed, just to curse lightly as he made some mistake himself.
“...says the one, crashing into a cow and falling down afterwards...”, you huffed, shaking your head lightly.
“Hey, you distracted me...!”, he weakly complained, still a grin on his lips.
“If you're distracted that easily... how about that?~”, you teased, poking his cheek, making him flinch immediately. “Hey, that's not fair...!”
“Good for me if you're both distracted!~”, Penguin chimed, having taken the lead without you realizing it.
“What? Oh, you'll get that back!” Your annoyed voice made him chuckle embarrassed.
“You sure about that?~”
The moment he asked, you could already tell how he would get it back. You had picked up an item box, getting some pretty nice  bomb that would hit the one who was in the first place of the race.
“Yes~”, you hummed innocently, shooting it – hitting that poor guy only a few moments afterwards, overtaking him with that.
“No fair, (y/n)!” And now, he was complaining. You chuckled in amusement, shrugging your shoulders.
“You can't let me win, can you?~”

It wasn't that surprising that you won the first round, was it? But the following ones balanced it more or less. Penguin won a few times as well as Shachi. The rainbow round was the worst of them – you complained every time you fell down – and that happened quite often concerning that you could fall down everywhere.
“I hate thaaaat!~”, you complained, biting your lip and changing your seating position, grimacing as you did so because of the pain. Hitting your bandaged injuries against the backrest wasn't very intelligent.
“...And I was scared, you'd take all my beer...” The provocative voice of your brother made the two men look up.
“Ah, why should we?~ We don't need alcohol to play games with your sister, you know?”, Shachi hummed grinning.
“Sugar is more than enough.”, Penguin agreed with a smirk.
“I can see that, you know~ And I guess you don't know what else I can see~”, he chuckled, earning confused looks. He grinned at them, tilting his head and pointing at the screen. “I see my sister winning at a race she hates~” He chuckled, making both look back in surprise – well, yeah, they had ignored the race, making it possible for you to focus and overtake them... somehow.
“How mean! You distracted us!” And there you chuckled, shaking your head.
“Again, they complain, but at least not because of me this time. Thanks, (b/n)!~”
“No need to thank me~ I'm glad to see you laugh.”, he gave back smiling, shrugging his shoulders. “Oh, and you'll probably hate me in a few minutes. Knowing you'll probably won't go to the hospital, I invited some different doc to take care of your cuts~”, he added, an innocent smirk on his face, suppressing the urge to grin as you grimaced.
“...Why can I already guess which doctor you're talking about...”, you muttered, not happy about that fact. Although you had to admit – he was right. You wouldn't go to the hospital or some doctor voluntarily to get the stitches out. Maybe it wasn't that bad that Law would take care of that... maybe. You wouldn't thank your brother for this idea though.
“Because it's our best friend!”, Shachi hummed amused, tilting his head. “Well, doesn't matter yet. Hey, (b/n), wanna join us for a round or two till Law gets here? Or are you too scared to lose?” And there it was, the provoking undertone, making your brother raise one eyebrow.
“Oh, I'm not scared~ Just gimme a second to change my clothes.”, he grinned, leaving the room afterwards. It didn't take long until he was back and you returned to playing.

At least, until it rang once more. You grimaced directly, getting up as your brother was rather focused on this round. “Guess you can play without me for now...”, you muttered beaten, heading for the door. You sighed soundlessly, opening it afterwards. The black-haired male slightly raised one eyebrow.
“Hey Law.”, you hummed, taking a step back so he could enter.
“You seem very pleased to see me, (y/n)-ya.” You blinked, grimacing because of his ironic comment and rubbing the back of your head sheepishly.
“Didn't (b/n) warn you? I hate going to the hospital because I'm... uhm, a bit afraid of everything concerning doctors and so...”
He sighed, shaking his head. “He mentioned something like that... though it didn't seem like that the last time.”, he hummed, making you flinch.
“...probably because I had other stuff on my mind...?”, you muttered, biting your bottom lip. “Well, never mind... you're here to control the cuts, aren't you?”
He simply nodded, following you as you turned around, heading upstairs and entering your room. It was, more or less, tidy. Not surprising as you only visited this place seldom – something you definitely wanted to change by now.
He put his bag down, taking a short look around, watching you sit down on your bed afterwards. You hesitated, grimacing lightly and rolling up the sleeves of your shirt. “I changed them once or twice...”, you muttered, holding out your arms to him. He sat down next to you, sighing soundlessly and grabbing it.
“It's good you did that. Now, let's see...” He removed the bandages, eyeing the healing cuts carefully, nodding contently. “I'll remove your sutures, okay?”, he mused, grabbing his working utensils.
“...fine.”, you muttered, leaning your head back a bit. You wouldn't watch him. Just... let him do his job.

It didn't take him long to remove all the strings, bandaging the wounds up afterwards. It was healing rather good, so you didn't worry that it would get worse the next days. The cuts would disappear, most likely without leaving scars.
“Guess we're done with that. Say, how are your bruises, (y/n)-ya?”, Law wanted to know calmly as he tidied up, looking at you questioning. You blinked a few times, tilting your head and shrugging your shoulders.
“Fine I think? Guess other things are worse than those.”, you murmured, adjusting your clothes. “My mind's still a bit unstable now and then.”, you added grimacing, making him raise one eyebrow.
“Need somebody to talk about it?” You blinked because of his calm question, lowering your head lightly.
“I doubt it would help. I didn't tell (b/n) because he feels bad already and I assume I just need time to get over it...”, you muttered a bit doubtful.
“Talking helps... although I shouldn't be the one to say that.”, he hummed, tilting his head lightly. You raised one eyebrow questioning, making him chuckle. A lopsided grin appeared on his lips. “I'm the last one to talk about my problems, that's why~”, he replied the question you didn't ask.
“And you suggest me to tell you my problems. How ironic.”, you hummed with a slight smile on your lips.
“Well, it is an effective method after all... but that doesn't mean I'll use it. I can offer it though, since you obviously don't want to talk to your brother about that stuff, (y/n)-ya... Although I can understand it somehow.”
You tilted your head, smirking lightly. “You understand that I don't want to make his bad conscience worse? Because of him, I had to talk to my ex-friend, meet his new girlfriend and realize that he betrayed me before we broke up. Although... I have to admit... it was good that I got to know that. It makes it easier to forget him.”, you hummed, leaning your head back and closing your eyes. “I hate it... that I still miss him somehow after all...”
Law hummed understanding. “Can't be helped I guess. You spent a longer time together I assume? Of course you'd miss the nice parts of it... but it's over. It won't help if you cling to it.”
“I won't. It's sad, but over. I know that, okay? But it might be difficult.. it were about two years after all.”, you muttered, getting up and stretching lightly. “So... how about we go and have a look on those jerks downstairs?”
He stared at you for a second, seeing through your forced smile, but he simply nodded. They were idiots, but they had been able to distract you – and that seemed like a good way for you. That's why the two of you went downstairs, entering the living room.
“Hah! I told you, you can't beat me at Bowser's castle round!~”, your brother chimed just in that moment, laughing amused while Shachi and Penguin complained again.
“You sure 'bout that, (b/n)?”, you hummed, tilting your head with a slight provocative grin. The three of them looked up in surprise.
“Oh yes, I am. Wanna try to beat me?~”, he hummed grinning, throwing a short look at Law. “I bet I can beat you and Law easily~”, he teased, making the raven-haired raise his eyebrows.
“I don't play such games...”, he tried to complain, but obviously had no choice as Shachi handed him the controller and pointed him to sit down while you got the fourth controller.
“Naw, don't be too sure about that! The rainbow map isn't mine – but the castle? Or the mines? Easy!~”, you hummed, sitting down on the floor.
“You know, you could sit down on the couch, (y/n)-ya.” “Yeah, there's enough space left for all of us!~”, Shachi agreed, making you huff amused.
“I know, but I prefer the floor~”, you mused as your brother started the next round. “So, chose your characters and let's go!~ How about a team race? Penguin and me against the two of you?”, he suggested, earning a slight chuckle from you.
“Why not. I bet we get the bad NPCs.”, you murmured, choosing Daisy as your driver since your brother was playing Yoshi. Law sighed quietly, randomly taking Waluigi.
“Four rounds. Let's say... everybody can chose one?”, your brother hummed, throwing a questioning look at you.
“Fine by me. So, Peng, which round do you want?”
He blinked, raising one eyebrow. “The sorbet land~!”, he grinned, making you roll your eyes.
“Seriously? The ice ground with the penguins? That's too cliché...”, you chuckled, waiting for your brother to start the game.

The ice round. Followed by the desert and the mines. None of you were too bad – it was the fault of the NPCs that Law's and your team was about to lose. At least, the other team had more points – and it depended on the last round whether you would win or not.
“Bowser's castle is the final round~ So, what do I get if I win the round, being on the first position?~”, your brother hummed finally.
“Huh? What do you want? We didn't play for anything, did we? If you want to play for something, we have to play real versus, not in a team!”, you complained lightly, making him laugh.
“Shall we?~ After this round?”, he grinned at you, earning a huff from Law.
“I'm not sure about that. What would you want to play for, hm?”
Your brother blinked, shrugging his shoulders. “The winner could decide what we do at our next meeting~”
“You mean something like... going to some amusement park, to the cinema or swimming? Great! Peng, let me play!”, Shachi insisted, clapping his hands once.
“Yeah. We just have to make sure that (y/n) is here then~”, your brother nodded, throwing questioning looks at you and Law.
“Shouldn't be too difficult if they accept my request, so... why not?.”, you hummed, tipping at your controller.
“...fine. Just start that damn game already.”, Law muttered, sounding a bit annoyed by now, earning a chuckle.
“That's Mr. Grumpy for you~”, you teasingly hummed, grinning lopsidedly because of his skeptical look.
“...just you wait, (y/n)-ya.”, he muttered, shaking his head. “We'll see who wins this match.”
Hey guys~

-waves lightly-

Being more or less dead I decided to upload this part now. I finished it... Friday...? And I'm quite a bit skeptical about what I did there...xD Or rather, what the characters made me write!

I'm not sure whether I'll finish a part or oneshot those days, feeling like a mess because of this stressful weekend and getting ill if I don't watch out >_>''

Ah, whatever. Ignore my bad mood x: I hope you like this part!~ And have a nice week!

This chapter was so warm :) Everybody helped Reader feel better.
And I love Mario Kart! I have so many good memories from that game. I loved playing with my brother, even though I was terrible and never won.
